To begin with ixl is a math learning website that has years from kindergarten to year 12. At Merrin we use this website for math home learning. We have to do at least 1 hour of ixl every week.On ixl we have challenges to be completed, awards to unlock, skills to master and medals to earn. I worked on this challenge for a whole term and finally earned all the medals and awards on year 7.

My award for completing all
medals on year 7.

AE7- Make a digital record of the Tekotiritiri challenges that have been completed over the course of 2013.

This challenge is what I am doing now.Uploading all my Tekotiritiri challenges onto a blog to share with people.

AE4- Enter the NSW ( New South Wales) science competition and complete 3 practice papers.

New South Wales/ ICAS are international competitions and Assessments for Schools. That tests children on independent skills-based assessments with a competition element. ICAS tests you on 6 subjects and they are Computer skills, English, maths, science, spelling and writing. I did 3 practice papers and they really helped me when it was time for the real test :D.

AE6- Enter the AMC and NSW competition and complete 3 practice papers for each competition.

Australian mathematics competition (AMC) is a math competition for children that are in years 3 to 12. AMC is used to challenge children at their understanding of maths. New South Wales ( NSW) or ICAS is also a competition. Except NSW tests children on more than one subject and they are computer skills, maths, reading, science, spelling and writing.

AE2- Enter the NSW writing competition and complete 3 practice papers.

For this challenge I wasn't able to get 3 NSW writing practice papers but I do know that the test this year is on persuasive writing so I wrote 3 persuasive pieces of writing.

AE1- Make weekly reflections on your home reading on the website www.timetoast.com or www.reading-rewards.com or your class blog which is room10merrinschool.blogspot.com/

For this challenge I decided to do my weekly reading reflections on www.reading-rewards.com. I went to the library every Friday to borrow books for my weekly reading and wrote my reflections online. On reading rewards there were rewards to be earned and you get to level up into different animals. I find reading rewards very fun so I recommend other children to do their reading reflections on this website.

AE3- Enter an external writing competition

I entered an external writing competition where you have to write a character description on someone. So I wrote a character description on my gran and what she looks like, what she likes and dislikes etc....
Here is my character description:
