AC3- Investigate a craft from other cultures.

For this task I made some Origami (a Japanese paper folding craft). I presented it to my class at the beginning of Term 2. I made a Lotus( traditional flower to Japan), lily, crab, flapping crane, Chinese vase( Verdi vase), dragon and the butterfly. I chose these particular models because they are traditional to Japan. These models are not very hard to make(except for the dragon which I found very hard to make) so if you are interested in making one scroll down and you will find some videos or paper instructions on how to make them. Hope you enjoy them!

AC1- Promote a safety message.
This challenge I decided to promote a Sun Safety message because New Zealand has one of the most highest records of skin cancer in the world. So I think more children and adults need to know about sun safety so they can help prevent illnesses people get from the sun.
In my powerpoint I tell you about what illnesses you can get from the sun, how do these illness begin, ways to prevent it, things to be careful on when trying to be sun safe, what to do when you get a sunburn and of course a short message for people to remember about sun safe. Hope you enjoy it!
Here is a powerpoint I've made on sun safety:
